Insanity - Day 15 Fit Test

Ok, it was my day 15 today!  Every two weeks I have to take the Fit Test to see if I have improved.  My asthma has been a bitch lately.  I literally just finished and I am wheezing away as I type, picturing my inhaler on my dresser upstairs.  I'm not using that as an excuse, although it's a valid one!  I haven't even looked at my Fit Test from last week to compare and see if I have improved yet.  But here are today's results.

Switch Kicks: 113
Power Jacks: 61
Power Knees: 104
Power Jumps: 54
Globe Jumps: 12
Suicide Jumps: 20
Push up Jacks: 19
Low Plank Obliques: 59

Insanity!

Okay, so I started a new workout program.  I hate to workout in a gym around a bunch of sweaty people.  So, I workout at home and I like to use the world as my gym.  As you can imagine, I lead a very busy life homeschooling my children.  But, I don't let that get in the way of my health. "Those who think they have no time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness." Edward Stanley (1826-1893) from The Conduct of Life.  It is imperative that I workout and keep my body flexible.  I have back issues and when I don't keep my body in shape then I am in major pain and I'm at the Chiropractor two to three times a week which is expensive and not very much fun!  Another issue I have is finding a good DVD workout program.  I like to switch it up a lot because I get bored very quickly.  So, I was doing some research and found Insanity!  It's a 60-day total body conditioning workout.  If you don't workout very often, I don't suggest this workout for you.  It's a little advanced to say the least!  It's entirely cardio and resistance and by the time I'm finished with these workout's, I'm soaked from head to toe in sweat.  Which, for me, is what I expect after I'm done working out!  I entirely believe that you have to work hard to see results.

Hard Body

What an awesome workout today! I can really see the difference in my muscles when I'm lifting and boxing. Who knew boxing would be such an awesome workout. I am so glad that I found a trainer that isn't in to traditional training, I was getting so bored with the typical stuff. I had no idea what I was getting myself in to when I started training with Matt. I told him to bring it and he's bringing it! What a difference already in the way my jeans are fitting, my baggy jeans are to big and my normal jeans are now my baggy jeans. Other than my hands and wrists always being sore, my body has really made a tremendous change for the better!

Matt...You Rock!

Today, I'm going to be making a Low Fat Banana Nut Muffin (cuz my kids are craving them) and I'm going to add some protein (but I'm not telling the kids all of this health stuff, otherwise Luke probably wouldn't eat them). I am also going to experiment with an Energy Protein Bar. I'm feeling more confident adding protein to my baking. The results lately have turned out pretty good.

Gold's Gym

erI hit the 2 weeks mark in to personal training today. We took some measurements just to see what my progress has been like. Here are the results.

Original Weight: 143
Today: 144
Orginal Body Fat: 25.5
Today: 23
Pounds of muscle gained: 4!

I think my membership was well worth it. I have 2 more weeks of personal training to go, then we will take a lot more measurements. I know I gained a pound, but that's not what you look at when you are trying to gain muscle and tone.

Summer bikini, here I come!

Golds Gym

I am psyched! We just got back from vacation in Florida. The hotel had a full length mirror, needless to say, I joined Golds Gym when I got back home. I always think about buying a full length mirror, I was reminded on this vacation why I don't have one. Ya see, it's not a weight issue, it's a sculpting issue. A cookie here and a cupcake there and Tammi Lee Webb at home just wasn't cutting it. Swimsuit season is coming and I aim to be ready for it this year. Now that I'm back where it's cold and gray and miserable, I need to get my butt outside and out of this house. So I will go outside to drive my car to the gym, that's as far as I go with this stinkin weather. I can't wait to feel the pain of a real gym workout. I go tomorrow for my first training session (learn how to use the equipment and get those body fat measurements) I will post those tomorrow, just so I can track my progress. Gotta see if the gym membership is worth it.

Current body fat - 25.5% / Goal - 18%
Weight - 143
Neck - 12.5
Chest - 32.75
Waist - 26
Hips - 38
Thigh - 21
Bicep - 9.75
