I dedicate this blog to mostly food but on occasion, I stray. Yes, I am human. I have many needs, desire's, passions. Some may say a "love affair" of sorts. Call it what you will. I'm not ashamed. I'm open about my passions and desires. My name is Dee and I love decorating, painting, moving furniture, you name it. My hubby asks me, "When we are old and gray, will our house look like it's been lived in?" My answer to that is "NO!" It's who I am, I desire change. If I had my choice, I would move every five years. Growing up, I lived in 11 different house and 3 different states. My hubby on the other hand, I could count on one hand the number of times he has moved and he's never moved out of Missouri. When that Western wind starts to blow in, I get antsy and it's time for me to move on. Nevertheless, his roots run deep and he won't budge. I'm stuck here in the Mid-West. Cold, snowy winter's, harsh spring and fall allergies and a summertime humidity that would smother you if you allowed it to. Alas, it's where our home is. Let me share some pictures of my home with you!

Hall bath. This room is a work in progress. I just refinished the cabinets over the weekend with the help of my Mom. |

More of the hall bath. Don't you love my Tiki tissue holder! He is so cute :) You can find a similar one here. |

Close up of the cabinets. I'm a little proud of them! |

This is part of my living room. This is where I plan on moving my picture wall. |

This is my current picture wall. Do you notice anything? One of these pictures is NOT family related. |

This is part of my living room in a way. |

Dining room I added these shelves to the sides of the windows a few years ago. I don't know what I would do without them. |

Love my shelves! |

My kitchen. This is where the Deelicious Sweets magic happens! I refinished the cabinets a couple of years ago. Again, with the help of my Mama. |

Living room. I was able to capture the technology and music that is so important to our family. Without them, we wouldn't be who we are. |
We have been here for 15 years on July 4. I make changes yearly. I'm sure we have lost some square footage due to the layers of paint. I hope you enjoyed your tour!
Yes I enjoyed the tour! You have a lovely home Dee! I can totally relate. I move furniture around and switch rooms etc every 6 months and my friends always make fun of me that they feel like it's their first time coming to our home whenever they visit us. It's so much fun and I don't consider "a lot of work". I always think of next project and I consider our house is "evolving" with us. I love tiki tissue holder. That was a fun post!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog today, and I'm glad I did. I enjoyed my stay here, and will be back to visit. Love the pictures. Nice home. You know, I spend some time looking at the pictures of the kitchen, my favorite place in the home.

Thanks Nami! I totally know what your talking about when your friends come over. My friends do the same thing. They immediately look for what's different. LOL! I like how you say your house is "evolving" with you. That is exactly what it's doing.
ReplyDeleteChristine, I'm glad you stopped by for a visit!
